Opening times is expected between 2029 and 2033. Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC and PWC are just a few of the globally renowned businesses that have chosen to relocate to Birmingham. The government’s levelling up agenda has also had an impact on the city with government departments moving to Birmingham as part of the Places For Growth programme, which has seen over 2100 civil service roles move from London to the West Midlands. Just outside the main city centre, Digbeth is an area that is benefitting from outside investment with the tram being extended to run down the high street. It is also the new home of the BBC, creating jobs and opportunities.

Birmingham is home to six Michelin star restaurants as well as being famed for its Balti Triangle. The city has a fantastic gastro scene where you can find anything from fine dining through to global fusion and street food. In fact, the Good Food Guide 2022 named Birmingham as having the ‘most exciting food destination,’ offering a mix of creative and innovative dining spots.

Culturally rich

Birmingham has a diverse and vibrant arts scene, with renowned cultural institutions including the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Symphony Hall and the Birmingham Royal ballet. There are also numerous music festivals and events throughout the year such as the Jazz & Blues Festival and Comedy Festival. The iconic Library of Birmingham is the biggest public library in Europe, and home to one of the largest Shakespeare collections in the world.

Shopping centres: The Bullring Shopping Centre is an iconic landmark and major attraction. It houses more than 200 stores with a huge range of brands. Connected to the Bullring is Grand Central, a premium shopping and dining destination.

Jewellery Quarter: This is destination shopping at its finest with visitors flocking to experience the exceptional collection of jewellery shops and workshops.

Markets: A wide range of bustling markets offering local crafts and fresh produce. Visit the Bullring indoor market or during the winter, the outdoor Frankfurt Christmas market.

Unique experiences: Throughout the city, you can find distinct areas that will specialise in unique shopping experiences. The Mailbox features luxury brands and stylish boutiques and the Custard Factory is an innovative hub for independent retailers, artists and designers.
